12th Asian Raptor Research and Conservation Network Symposium
“Strengthening Connections & Collaborations in Raptor Conservation & Research in the Changing Environment”
20-22 January 2022
Malaysia is hosting the Asian Raptor Research and Conservation Network Symposium (ARRCN) Symposium for the second time after the first in Taiping in 2005 and this time we are going for a virtual symposium!
In view of the current COVID-19 situation, we have decided to convert the 12th ARRCN Symposium into a virtual conference. This is one way to maintain the tradition of having a biennial meeting among the raptor researchers and enthusiasts to keep everyone connected and updated during these challenging times. In other words, a virtual ARRCN Symposium will also allow an intellectual meeting to discuss the challenges and future plans for raptor research and conservation from the safety of home. In this way, we also reduce our carbon footprints!
Considering the limitations that will be faced by participants in the virtual meeting, we have made a few adjustments to the original plan of the conference. To make it easy for some country members, we will limit the conference to only two full days followed by post-conference workshops on the third day. Owing to possible financial constraints of some participants, we have decided to make this conference free-of-charge. You are still required to register in order to get updates and link to the virtual meeting. As we also foresee problems with internet connectivity in some places, we will record all live presentations and share with registered participants so that you can view the presentations at your convenience.
So, do join us! We look forward to meeting everyone virtually!
